(KUALA LUMPUR) Following the recent launch of GXBank, AEON is gearing up to welcome its customers as AEON Bank announces the opening of registration for interested individuals. Having received the green light from Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) earlier this year, AEON Bank is set for a phased roll-out of its services.

In a recent update on AEON Bank’s official Facebook page, the public is now invited to register their interest and stay informed about the upcoming launch. Interested parties simply need to scan the QR code provided in the Facebook post, directing them to the registration site, where they can share their name and email address.

Similar to GXBank, AEON Bank will offer its services through a digital banking app. Although the app is not yet accessible to the public, preview images have been spotted on Google’s PlayStore and Apple’s AppStore.

From the preview, prospective customers can anticipate savings account services and DuitNow Transfer transactions. All savings in the account will generate profit, adhering to AEON Bank’s full Shariah compliance. The app also boasts an integrated expense tracker and a Personal Financial Management feature, enabling customers to allocate funds towards their financial goals.

In addition to standard banking features, the app showcases AMP points accumulation. While the purpose of these points remains undisclosed, speculation suggests they may be linked to AEON Member Plus (AMP) and could be utilised in the AEON Wallet.

AEON Bank stands as one of the five digital banks set to debut in Malaysia. Operating under AEON Credit and Aeon Finance Services, with each holding a 50 per cent share, the bank, formerly known as ACS Digital Berhad, has been officially renamed AEON Bank (M) Berhad. Positioned as an Islamic digital bank, it is an associate company of AEON Credit Service (M) Berhad and a subsidiary of AEON Financial Service Co., Ltd. (“AFS Japan”).
