Capital A Sdn Bhd’s multifaceted airasia Superapp and CGS-CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd have entered a collaborative partnership to explore possibilities that will make equity trading and investment more affordable for the everyday person and create a more inclusive capital market.
The stock trading service will be introduced as a new feature via ProsperUs, CGS-CIMB Securities’ digital investment platform.
At the MoU signing ceremony held on Monday, March 7th, Capital A’s CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes spoke on the momentous occasion, stating that the collaboration between the two companies was inspired by the upsurge of zero-fee stock and the democratization of share ownership by US-based crypto trading provider Robinhood
CGS-CIMB Securities’ CEO Ruzi Rani Ajith also shared how the partnership capitalizes on the company’s investment-as-a-service model. “With our focus on ESG, we will level the playing field by providing financial literacy courses so that as “everyone can invest,” they do so with knowledge and wisdom.
“Ultimately, we want to create investment opportunities for those who would otherwise be left behind, with a platform that is simple to use and affordable,” she added.
The initiative falls in line with the Securities Commission Malaysia Capital Market Masterplan 3, aimed at empowering investors to build a better future by offering quality investment advice and technologically enhance capabilities to meet the rapidly evolving customer needs.
