Datasonic Group Bhd, a Malaysian-based security-based ICT solution provider, will be working with Meta Doers World Holding Bhd on a joint venture company to explore possible opportunities for business in the metaverse. This move marks the company’s foray into the metaverse focusing on education.
According to Datasonic’s executive chairman, Abu Hanifah Noordin, the first stage of the newly formed company will tap into the education platform industry in Malaysia across the governmental, primary, secondary and tertiary education sector, and training agencies.
According to a report by McKinsey & Company, investment in Metaverse globally has grown exponentially from RM224.277 billion in 2021 to RM527.712 billion as of June 2022.
“Through the setting up of a 60:40 joint venture company, we will leverage on the expertise and competitive strengths of both parties to develop a world class 3D virtual classroom where students can virtually meet and interact with classmates and teachers to achieve optimum learning outcomes,” added Abu Hanifah.
Meta Doers World is part of Doers Education Group (DEG), a specialist in online and offline education, and metaverse project consultancy, with a presence in China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines and Canada.
The company is also well-versed in advisory services through the metaverse platform focusing on six 6 business sectors: education, health, food, entertainment, energy and shelter industry.
