Garnier Malaysia has wrapped-up its school education programme in partnership with the Malaysia Nature Society (MNS). Launched in June 2022, the objective of the programme to cultivate the next generation of Green Heroes through its nationwide 'Garnier Jom Kurangkan Plastik Program'.
The nationwide school education programme saw a total of 600 schools where a total of 2,288 students and 782 teachers benefitted from the programme. Both students and teachers were educated on recycling, upcycling, and ways to tackle plastic pollution via virtual workshops. These students then put their knowledge to the test and ran respective recycling activities in their schools and managed to collect a total of 56,693kg of plastic during the duration of the campaign.
"We couldn't be happier with the results from our Garnier Green Beauty initiative, and we thank our dedicated partner, MNS for the hard work and in helping us realize this goal of educating and cultivating the next generation Green Heroes," commented Chris Chan, Head of Garnier Malaysia.
"Through the designed workshops and syllabus, students are now exposed to and aware of how simple it is to practice the 3Rs (reduce, reuse, recycle) and we hope that though this programme, we have made recycling fun. Sustainability is at the core of everything we do, and Garnier hopes to continue making a change to our local communities and young advocates through the power of education."
