Informa Markets, the region’s leading water and wastewater event for developing Asia and organisers of the ASIAWATER Expo & Forum 2022, joined forces with the National Water Services Commission (SPAN) in their collective vigilance for natural preservation have come together to clean and maintain the Jenderam Hilir river.
The Jenderam Hilir river has been adopted by SPAN to help the residents living along the riverbanks to maintain its natural eco-system and reinforcing the integrity of the riverbanks, preventing them from erosions.
Some of the efforts in maintaining and cleaning of the river is by planting new trees and removing any sorts of pollutants and wastes along the riverbanks. The Jenderam Hilir riverbanks is also seen to be the natural nesting grounds for local swans living in the area.
In keeping with their dedication to the initiative, SPAN made it a bi-weekly activity for them to maintain and clean up the riverbanks, with the ASIAWATER team honoured to have been invited to be part of this virtuous activity.
