When we heard that The Olive Tree—the F&B group responsible for dining experiences such as Frangipaani, Rockafellers, Rock Bottom and Sutraa—was opening a new establishment, we were jumping in our seats at the excitement of trying what it had to offer.
So when it officially launched in February of this year, we couldn’t wait any longer and jumped at the opportunity to try their fares for ourselves.
Described as having a ‘casual, all-day dining vibe’ that promises to be the ‘go-to spot for anyone who appreciates fine food and scenic environments’, Luca is all about serving quality flavours; a testament to the Olive Tree’s long-standing motto that stretches throughout all of its brands.
Joining the array of swanky eateries that make up BSC’s high-end enclave, this extension of food-entrepreneur Leslie Gomez’ list of F&B locations has managed to make itself stand out with its hard-to-miss soft exteriors and even softer interiors.
First up, we were delighted by the aromas of their Lamb Marrow Shepherd’s Pie (RM56), an all-time Western favorite, is a scrumptious arrangement of lamb shank baked into a crispy puff pastry and servings of corn and gravy on the side.
Cutting into the crust, one would be hit with a delectable scent that leaves the tummy grumbling and tender meat that’s just falling off the bone that pairs perfectly with the creamy corn that just brings it all together. If you’re really a glutton for punishment, the gravy is an added bonus to an already filling assortment.
Next, we just had to dig into some of their sweet treats, starting off with the Coconut Panna Cotta & Latik (RM 24), a light and milky palette cleanser served with a dash of tropical fruits. The delicate jelly feels just right and gives the fruits that added sweetness.
We were also fortunate to sample some of Luca's special offerings for the month of August based on the goodness of honey. The Nangka Strudel is not your atypical strudel, and it doesn't pretend to be either. This honey-drizzled goodie is the sweet kick in the back of your throat and will leave you reminiscing for more.
And as if that wasn't enough, Luca's beverage of the month, The Romeo & Juliet, is sure to high the spot. Made from the wonders of Trigona Honey, also known as Kelulut Honey, offers an abundance of benefits to the body and soul.
A modern and classy abode that serves up an assortment of Western-style cuisines, Luca is a bustling place that offers a little something for everyone. And if you’re in for a night out, take a seat at their semi-outdoor area that’s complete with an open bar and let the vibes take you away.
