Daniel Solombrino Leads The Debut of IHG's voco Hotels In Vietnam
IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, debuted voco hotels with the opening of voco Ma Belle Danang, an IHG Hotel on 9 June 2023. Led by Daniel Solombrino, General Manager, the hotel is set to introduce a new era of vibrant hospitality to the country’s central coast.
With more than 17 years of international hospitality experience with a focus on luxury and premium brands, Daniel is a highly-skilled hotel professional who pairs a creative spirit and strong business skills with a passion for delivering outstanding service. A member of IHG’s inaugural European Graduate Program in 2010, Daniel now oversees the pre-opening of voco Ma Belle Danang, an IHG Hotel.
A Swiss national and alumnus of the prestigious Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland, Daniel joined IHG Hotels & Resorts in 2008 at a Holiday Inn Brentwood in the UK. This marked the start of a thriving 15-year career with the company where he was part of the teams at InterContinental Paris Le Grand, Crowne Plaza Kuwait, and InterContinental Bahrain. Now based in Vietnam for his 10th year, Daniel will be introducing IHG’s sixth brand in the market, after Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, Regent Hotels & Resorts, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts, and Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts.
He moved to Vietnam in 2003 where he helped to oversee the successful pre-opening of InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72 and a stint as Director of Food and Beverage, and then Hotel Manager at InterContinental Hanoi Westlake, before being named as Cluster Hotel & Residence Manager at InterContinental Saigon Hotel & Residence in 2018.
Launched in 2018, IHG's voco hotels combine the reassurance of a big brand with the informality and charm of an individual hotel. In line with celebrating the individual spirit and character of each hotel under the brand, voco Ma Belle Danang, an IHG Hotel will create localized guest experiences inspired by the elements of the hotel’s location. A talented footballer, Daniel played for the Swiss national youth team and worked as a VIP Guest Relations Advisor at UEFA Euro 2008, the football tournament that was co-hosted by Switzerland and Austria. He still loves sports and also has a passion for travel and gastronomy.
