Wanzar Takes A Back-To-Basic Approach With Latest Sustainable Womenswear Collection

Wanzar is stepping away from its signature elegant bridal wear collections to make way for a bold move in the direction of sustainable fashion with its new casual womenswear line.

Made with 100% sustainably-sourced organic cotton, the eco-friendly collection features loose cuts unconventionally inspired by the baju kurung that embodies the simple comforts and casual spirit of daily Malaysian life. With six minimalist designs and 17 pleasing, solid colours to choose from, every piece is versatile enough to mix and match across the collection for that effortless, relaxed look.

According to Abu Zarin Abdullah, Founder of Wanzar, this collection was the brand’s answer to the stereotype surrounding fashionable clothes being difficult to match with other pieces in one’s wardrobe.

"This new collection is our way of proving them wrong, especially in our current era of fast fashion! Creating closet staples for everyday urban life was our mission going in, but we were also committed to doing our part in sticking true to our local roots and healthy manufacturing practices.”

“This line is my way of paying homage to the local street fashion scene, to reimagine it meant for the modern Malaysian woman – the woman-on-the-go – as she goes about her day. While we’ve made a name for ourselves with our bridal wear, we want to empower more women this time, with everyday looks that are both trendy and distinctly Malaysian-made,” Abu Zarin added.

Wanzar’s new womenswear collection is offered in a wide range of sizes that embrace the varied silhouettes of the modern Malaysian woman’s body. Eco-forward fashionistas can purchase Wanzar’s new sustainable casual womenswear line at their outlets in Subang Jaya or Johor Bahru, or via Wanzar’s online store.
