Malaysian digitalisation firm, Wilstech Sdn Bhd has collaborated with global cloud service provider Huawei Technologies Sdn Bhd to develop digital transformation solution for small and medium enterprises (SME) in their businesses. The partnership was cemented with a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC) signing ceremony witnessed by Yang Berhormat Senator Dato' Sri Dr. Haji Mohamad Ali bin Haji Mohamad, Deputy President of the Dewan Negara.
This partnership will see Wiltech act as a technology partner to plan, consult, develop and implement joint opportunities and projects, thereby allowing existing Huawei partners and customers to transition to tech-based solutions through Wilstech's slew of digital offerings. Some of the services that will be provided include enterprise resource planning systems, web and mobile app development, network penetration tests, and more.
CEO and co-founder of Wilstech, Wilson Low stated that the company is extremely honoured to join hands with an established organisation such as Huawei. “Having already digitised over 168 SMEs, startups, and businesses, we are looking to keep the momentum going to grow the nation’s economy in the long run, starting with this partnership.
"We believe that our expertise will prove invaluable for companies in the long run. Through this partnership, we are certain that we will improve the effectiveness and productivity of SMEs, startups, and enterprise organisations alike.”
Despite encouragement from the government and the acceleration of digitisation efforts pushed by the global pandemic, 77% of SMEs in Malaysia still remain at the basic digitalisation stage.
This collaboration will allow Wilstech's services to be more widely recognised by established organisations and multinationals, but also lets the two firms work together on creating digital transformation solutions for franchises using Huawei Cloud's future technologies.
Huawei Malaysia’s Vice President of the Cloud and Artificial Intelligence Business Lim Chee Siong has stated that, “Between Wilstech and Huawei, we will focus on the cooperation, evolving the joint export, develop and market new technology areas and software solutions that will help all levels of SMEs to accelerate the uptake transformation journey to stay competitive in the market.”
“It is always our goal at Huawei Cloud to dive into digitalisation and to provide Everything as a Service (XaaS). We will continue to innovate with local partners to offer cutting-edge technologies to support customers’ digital transformation journey. The collaboration with Wilstech will see more cloud-based digital solutions made ready for SMEs market in Malaysia.”
Since 2016, Wilstech has been on the mission of digitising Malaysia's SMEs and startups through tech-based solutions like HR, accounting, and CRM, infrastructure and hardware services, and software and mobile app development.
